About Science With You

Science with You is a Science Fair Outreach Program designed to "level the playing field" between students who do and do not have a scientist in their life to help them with the development of science fair projects. Our goal is to give all students an equal chance to succeed in the Science Fair, and to encourage participation in STEM.

What we do

Science with U will provide K-12 students participating in the Science fair with a STEM graduate student to minimize the gap created by varying resource levels available to students and provide insight into the research field. The science fair presents an opportunity for K-12 students to learn the scientific method through hands-on learning while also teaching valuable skills about note-taking, problem-solving, and analysis of information. This opportunity is designed to be encouraging, but far too often is discouraging for students who are resource-limited compared to their peers. By partnering students with a graduate student in the STEM field, all students will learn the basic components of an experiment and experimental analysis, helping to prevent basic mistakes often seen in the projects of young scientists and therefore bridging the resource gap between students.
